Biography in Memoriam: Mark Greenberg | Partner & Managing Director

Mark Greenberg, one of our beloved Founding Partners and the husband of CEO Cynthia DiBartolo, passed away on November 20, 2025.

Mark was a force of nature: radiant, generous, grateful, and alive in full technicolor. He moved through the world with a rhythm entirely his own. Music was his first language, and he spoke it with brilliance — touring the globe, recording, performing, and sharing stages with legends. His drums carried him across continents and into musical histories, each beat a testament to his fire, his soul, and his devotion to the craft. He performed alongside Dickey Betts & Great Southern, The Dave Matthews Band, Roomful of Blues, Ronnie Earl, Bob Weir & RatDog, Jimmy McGriff, Lee Roy Parnell, Billy Bob Thornton, moe., Tongue n' Groove, Roy Hargrove, The Doobie Brothers, Susan Tedeschi, The Charlie Daniels Band, Larry Coryell, Joss Stone, Jaimoe’s Jasssz Band, Kenya Hathaway, — and so many others whose artistry matched the fire in his own. His own band, Pimp the Cat, born from the brotherhood of Great Southern members, found a global home with the Japanese label Keni International. And in New York City, Mark became part of the very heartbeat of the scene, hosting the Bitter End All Star Jam for sixteen vibrant years.

Stepping into the lineage of Great Southern, Mark carried its spirit forward with reverence and vitality. With Dickey Betts’ blessing, he helped steward a musical tradition rooted in history, soul, and Southern rock mythology.

Mark often joked that he was a musician by night and a finance professional by day, but those who knew him understood the truth: Mark moved between worlds because his spirit could never be contained by a single path. As a Founding Partner at Tigress Financial Partners, Mark became as masterful in investment banking — especially within entertainment and sports — as he was behind a drum kit.

Prior to joining Tigress Financial Partners, Mark was a Senior Vice President at Securities America, LLC and oversaw the development and implementation of small business pension plans. He was an early adopter of the PEO (Professional Employer Organization) multiple employer format pension plan and had a focus on plan design for high growth technology companies with complex non-resident employee issues in the greater Boston area. Mark received a BA from Berklee College.
