She managed a 20-million-dollar portfolio of loans to medium-sized, fast-growth, highly leveraged, and working capital-intensive companies. She worked closely with senior management to develop business plans to improve asset management and financial position. It was here that she completed a 6-month MBA credit training program.

Ms. Thomas followed this role with a position as Vice President of Corporate and Institutional Sales at National Westminster Bank. From here, she became a Managing Director of Taxable Fixed Income Sales and Trading at WR Lazard, Laidlaw & Luther, Inc. She established the firm’s taxable fixed income product distribution presence for primary and secondary securities (governments, agencies, corporates and mortgage-backed), prepared RFPs for new business, trained and supervised staff, and developed and managed P&L budget in excess of 2.5 million dollars.

She found herself in another Managing Director position after this, working with the Fixed Income and Equity Syndicate Department at Blaylock & Partners, L.P. She launched the syndicate desk to enhance the firm’s visibility and to facilitate and coordinate the distribution of new issue equity and fixed income securities. Ms. Thomas directed the execution of fixed-income and equity transactions with full accountability for deal management oversight and the delivery and accounting of all transactions. She continued her career at The Williams Capital Group, L.P., as a Tax-Exempt Fixed Income Syndicate Manager and Underwriter. At Williams Capital Group, Alexis directed all aspects of senior and co-managed deals for fixed-income, equity transactions and tax-exempt fixed-income transactions with a focus on establishing and building the firm’s deal management capabilities and as a DEI resource with institutional clients.
